To Michael Chappel: Fight off Integration
When Britain split, with people from South Wales and the West Country moving to the Armorican peninsula to form a new Britain across the channel, they brought with them the names Devon & Cornwall, of course ' Cornwall is only the English version of 'Kernow'; Cernyw in Cymraeg/Welsh, Kerne(w) in Breton and 'Cornouaille' in French; Kernow in the Breton language is 'Kerne Veur', or Great Cornwall, so the island became 'Breizh Veur' or 'Great Britain'. Many years ago Napoleon reorganized French government thereby stripping us of our 'Cornwall, we are now integrated into the modern 'Départments' of Finistere & Cotes d'Armor, although it still exists in folklore, as someone from 'Cornwall' is understood to have distinctive personality traits to someone else from 'Tregor' or 'Leon'. It aso exists within the church dioceses, I have lists of every church & chapel bell tower in the three historic Regions. Anyway to the point, stay in there Mike, we are with you, Kernow is your Cymru, it is unique and you have every right to cherish it, fight off integration.
