Has everyone forgotten the World Cup qualifiers? The last thing we need is for two of our biggest stars to suffer Olympic Games burn out, although it's not yet certain they'd be released by their clubs. One cannot bring the British Lions rugby team into the equation because it figures at the highest level of the sport, under 23s Olympics doesn't; on top of which we know that our international football identity has already come under scrutiny more than once, which could be made worse now by the situation in Spain, their 'home nations' namely the Catalans & Basques already have more autonomy than we do and arguably a stronger, not older, footballing tradition, look at Barcelona. What would be our defence if they asked for parity and were denied? It's too delicate to be tampered with, we've been fortunate to have 'national' representation because we wrote the rules and pocketed the rule book; I've got news for you, the rule book's been taken away from us.
