Better & Worse

I enjoyed that book so much with its history, legends, poets & poems, geography, architecture, language, ale (men) & beer (gods), and social intercourse, so much to be seen in the mind's eye, so much to learn, some of it to be set aside, that anything else I pick up now will be a let down; in the mean time things move on, stay the same, evolve, get better, get worse. My 'telephone fixe' is working again; mobile/portable reconnected; car running; in the post this morning, intermingled with my Christmas cards, a letter from the tax office blocking my bank a/c, no money there but could cause me problems; drove down to Carhaix for two meetings concerning my situation, car slipping and sliding on the way; drove for petrol, wouldn't restart, afraid my card wouldn't pass and they'd hold on to it, eventually both worked; thank goodness for that, now in the sure knowledge that my card was working I picked up a load of blank dvd's for recording back home today and distributing tomorrow, it was blocked. My way is as clear as the snow filled roads, and in 3 days time I'm expecting a telephone call, that if I can't fulfill my monthly obligation on the phone there & then, my name will be forwarded to the Banque de France, and so much for pub landlord in 3 months.
