Patron Saint of Wales
A Digest of Rhygyfarch's Life of St David
42 - 43) A large part of Ireland served David the Waterma, thanks to Aidan. When the latter sailed to Ireland, he forgot the bell thad David had given him. When David heard this, he told the bell to go to his master, and an angel bore it to Aidan. Modomnoc took a swarm of bees to Ireland, but then returned to see David, followed by the bees. He went again to Ireland, but the bees followed him. When he had returned to David in Wales three times, David told the bees to go back to Ireland, and never return. To this day bees will not remain in the monastery.
