HARRI WEBB
Young Fellow From Ll^yn
Young fellow from Lleyn, who's the girl of your heart,
You who wander so late in the evening apart ?
My sweetheart is young and she comes from the Sarn,
And neat is her cottage that's under the Garn.
And what does she look like, the girl of your heart,
You who wander so late in the evening apart ?
Dark, dark is my darling and dark haired is she,
But white shines her body like foam on the sea.
And what is she wearing, the girl of your heart,
You who wander so late in the evening apart ?
In a long gown of shining white satin she goes
And red in her bosom there blushes a rose.
Young fellow from Ll^yn, is she angry and flown,
That you wander so late in the evening alone ?
Oh, never my sweetheart showed anger or pride
Since the very first time that we walked side by side.
Young fellow from Ll^yn, why do tears then start
To your eyes as you wander so late and apart ?
From her cheek has withered the roses away
And white is the wear in the cottage of clay.
